  • Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival
    • You will be picked up by our guide and driver and transferred to Ho Chi Minh, which was formerly called Saigon and feel the pulse of the city. With its heady mix of past and present architecture, scooters whizzing past, noodle sellers on the sidewalk, Saigon is a city on the move.

  • Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
    • Explore every corner of Ho Chi Minh and hear about the history of the city from the days of French colonial rule to the tragedy of the Vietnam War. This excursion will visit outstanding destinations such as the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum before ending your day with a sunset speedboat ride along the Saigon River.

  • Day 3: Mekong Delta - Le Jarai Cruise (B/L)
    • Travel about two hours south of Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Hop aboard a small boat and explore the waterways stopping off at a small home-based factory where workers process coconuts to be used in products like matting and candy. Then transfer to Le Jarai, a converted rice barge and continue your cruise along the Mekong River. Join in a demonstration of Vietnamese cooking and watch the river go by and enjoy a sumptuous three-course lunch of Mekong specialties!

  • Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Hoi An (B/L)
    • Say goodbye to Ho Chi Minh and fly to Danang to start our adventure in Hoi An. This UNESCO recognized destination has been artfully restored to its former glory and its quaint architecture makes the perfect picture postcard. Discover a preserved pagoda, assembly hall and the often photographed Japanese covered bridge - living links to Hoi An’s ancient past!

  • Day 5: Hoi An (B/L)
    • Getting to know the food is also a great way of learning about a country. Enjoy a half-day cooking class where you will have a hands-on lesson on how to shop for ingredients and cook authentic Vietnamese food. By the end of it you’ll be whipping up pho and spring rolls like a professional!

  • Day 6: Hoi An - Hue (B/L)
    • Drive about two and a half hours along the scenic Hai Van Pass to the former imperial city of Hue. This stretch of road is arguably the prettiest coastal drive in all of Vietnam! Nestled against the banks of the Perfume River, Hue has had an interesting history. Explore the elaborate tombs belonging to past emperors and see the mausoleum of the former emperor Minh Mang in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes, and walk around the Imperial Citadel, the seat of power for the Nguyen dynasty.

  • Day 7: Hue -  Hanoi (B)
    • Take a short flight to Hanoi and say a quick hello to the city. See the highlights of Hanoi with a visit to the famous Temple of Literature and Ngoc Son Temple perched on a tiny island in Hoan Kiem Lake. Take a breezy cyclo ride through the Old Quarter’s 36 streets and end your day with a water puppet performance that will delight your senses. This evening, take a rest in your hotel and ready for you next adventure.

  • Day 8: Hanoi - Ba Be National Park (B/L/D)
    • Our tour guide will pick you up by car at your hotel in Hanoi about 7:30 AM to transfer you to Bac Kan. We will start by driving in the direction of Ba Be National Park for about 4 hours. You will be welcomed by Mr Loc, a friendly host of Mr Linh’s Homestay and enjoy your lunch after checking in your room.
      In the afternoon, start your boat trip around Ba Be Lake with our local guide. Ba Be Lake  was recently recognised by UNESCO as the third Ramsar site in Vietnam - an important wetland of the world. The lake bed is made up of limestone with millions of crags and crevasses that are ideal for a large variety of marine life - there are over a hundred species of freshwater fish in the lakes. The boat will take you to visit the missable spots on Ba Be Lake such as Widow island, Cam village, An Ma temple. After that, you take a short hike on the trail to the panorama view point of the animal observation huts ranger station and to the harbor. Moreover, you will have a chance to kayak amidst the mystery sunset of the late afternoon before getting back to your homestay and enjoy your night with BBQ dinner.

  • Day 9: Ba Be National Park - Ban Gioc Waterfall (B/L/D)
    • After breakfast at Mr Linh’s Homestay, you will depart for Quang Uyen. a district inhabited primarily by Nung ethnic minority communities. Due to their isolation and the remote nature of the district, their centuries old traditions and culture remain recognizably distinct from other minorities in Vietnam. This remoteness and traditional simplicity is what makes Quang Uyen so appealing, and you will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy your lunch.
      In the early afternoon, continue to drive to venture deep underground into the magical Nguom Ngao Cave, for a very different, but no less impressive natural wonder. The cave stretches for 2,144 meters underground and is brimming with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. And, your highlight of the tour is that we take you to one of the most incredible natural wonders in Northern Vietnam: Ban Gioc Waterfall. This breath-taking 300-metre wide waterfall sits right on the border between China and Vietnam, amidst a beautiful mountainous landscape. While you’re here you can spend your time relaxing in the glow of the natural beauty, take some amazing photos, and and board a bamboo boat that will take you so close to the falls you’ll feel the water splashes on your face, practically sitting at the very edge of Vietnam, so close to China that you can actually touch it.
      Rounding out the day, you will then travel to Quang Uyen where you will have dinner and stay overnight at Nung’s house.

  • Day 10: Ban Gioc waterfall – Lang Son - Ha Noi (B/L)
    • After breakfast we’ll kick the final day of the tour of by continue your trip into the pass to Dong Dang, stopping to visit Mother’s Temple and Dong Khe – an important historical site where The Battle of Dong Khe was fought during the First Indochina War. In fact, this was the very first battle of the Indochina Wars, and the fighting here took place through September and October 1950, ending in a resounding victory for the Viet Minh.
      Transferring you to Lang Son for Lunch then we will start by driving in the direction of the Chinese border for about 3 hours, before stopping at Chi Lang Pass - a 20-km-long gorge created from a narrow valley between two mountains.
      This place occupies an important position in Vietnamese history, being the place of many victories against various Chinese invasions over the centuries and millennia, as far back as 981AD. As such it bears the reputation of Vietnam’s strongest citadel and bastion. Here you will have roughly an hour to walk around and explore the area around the Quy Mon Quan Gate, which translates as “The Gate of Monsters”, named for the many invasion forces that would spill through the pass over the course of history only to be beaten back by stalwart Vietnamese defenders.
      At the end of the tour, return to Hanoi and overnight at hotel in Hanoi.

  • Day 11: Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)
    • Arrive into Hanoi early in the morning and after a quick freshen up and breakfast head to the coastal port of Halong about four hours drive from Hanoi. Cruise the waters of Halong Bay with its hundreds of towering pillars of sea and wind-carved limestone karsts. Stay onboard a traditional junk for the night and swim, and kayak in the jade green waters.

  • Day 12: Ha Long - Hanoi (B/L)
    • See the Surprise Cave the largest in Halong Bay with its incredible limestone formations. Cruise back to port and drive to Hanoi arriving later in the afternoon. This evening pull up a stool on the sidewalk and enjoy a beer and spot of people watching just like the locals.

  • Day 13: Hanoi - Luang Prabang (B/L)
    • Fly to Luang Prabang the spiritual capital of Laos and visit the temples Wat Xieng Thong and Wat Mai, and see the former Royal Palace which is now the National Museum with its halls containing rare religious and cultural artifacts. Then walk up the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi, for panoramic views of the city as the sun sets.

  • Day 14: Luang Prabang (B/L)
    • Cruise the waters of the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves that have become shrines to devotees of Buddhism. For hundreds of years, followers have come to the caves to pray and make merit, by leaving behind a statue of Buddha. The caves are jammed packed with statues with more being added each year. Pop into a riverside weaving village where ancient wooden looms are used to create intricate textiles.

  • Day 15: Luang Prabang (B)
    • Spend the morning at leisure. Later, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
