Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be (~ 235km ~ 6h. Road) (L/D)
- We leave Hanoi early to reach our first destination. Our Motorbiking Adventure Tour drives use on small secondary roads, winding along forests and valleys. Landscapes are wild after Thai Nguyen city. Lunch on the road.
  
  Arrival at Cho Ra at the beginning of afternoon, and take a boat waiting for you at Buoc Lom harbour. You will then continue visiting the village of Ban Cam from the Tay ethnicity located on the shore of the river. Afterwards, the boat vill take you to the Dau Dang village, also a Tay village.
  
  Night by the waterfalls at our friend Ong Pirate’s house, the chef of the jungle.
Day 2: Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)
- A full day to enjoy the Ba Be National Park. In the morning we go for a walk by the Nang river until the waterfalls of Dau Dang. We come back to take a boat to cross the Nang river and begin the trek throught the Hills. During the walking we cross several villages and pay a visit to our H’mong, Dao, Tay friends lost in the forest. We finally reach the Lake of Ba Be where a boat waits for us. Then,we cross the lake to get to the village of Coc Toc and have rest. We spend the night at Mr. Linh home the cook of the jungle. Ba Be is a national Park covered by one of the last primary forest of Vietnam.
Day 3: Ba Be – Bao Lac (~ 180km ~ 6 h Road) (B/L/D)
- Early departure for a long and beautiful ride. Small, easy road which recently replaced a dirt road. Scenery changes as we climb the mountain. Mountain, pass, no traffic at all! We go through the territory of black Tay, Doa, H’Mong, San Chi, to end in the Lo Lo ethnic area. Depending of the day of the week, we can visit the ethnic market of Bao Lac.
Day 4: Bao Lac – Meo Vac – Dong Van (~120 km, ~4h Road) (B/L/D)
- One of the most stunning rides in Vietnam along the Chinese border. Many incredible mountain passes, valleys, ethnic territories. Mystical atmosphere for a trip from another time.
Day 5: Dong Van – Ha Giang (~150km, ~5h Road) (B/L/D)
- Very nice step in the heights of the province along China. Crossing passes, valleys estates, many countries with different cultures. We pass through several villages of our friends Hoa, Pu Peo, the Phu … It is also an opportunity to see some vestiges of French and Hmong constructions, including the H’mong Castle. Mystical atmosphere. Magnificent step between China and Vietnam Sublime out of time journey. Overnight in hotel.

Day 6: Ha Giang – Hoang Su Phi (~90km, ~3h Road) (B/L/D)
- Short stage yet we have to go through the Cong Troi pass which offer beautiful panorama. We will have time the afternoon for a walk to discover Hoang Su Phi surroundings.We are welcomed by our friends in the lodge, good comfort nice meals and gorgeous view with forest river and gardens.

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi – Xin Man – Bac Ha (~100 km, ~5h Road) (B/L/D)
- Alternatively sealed road and tracks through remote areas. Sceneries are changing every 15 km and we cross many different ethnic cultures. Dao white and red, Tay, Cao Lan, flower H’mong on the Chinese border, Lo Lo and about 8 other ethnic groups. Night in hotel. Road between Vietnam and China
Day 8: Bac Ha –Luc Yen (~130km, ~4h Road) (B/L/D)
- Your Motorbiking Adventure Tour let you have time to enjoy a little bit more the place, and then we leave by a nice road after lunch. Small hills covered by tea plantations, Karstic mountain peaks, we reach to Luc Yen in early afternoon, dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 9: Luc Yen – Vu Linh (~80km, ~3h Road) (B/L/D)
- If we haven’t been the day before, we can climb up to the red Dao village to meet our friends. Or we start directly by taken a beautiful small road, still in the middle of limestone and palm trees. We ride up in the foothills of the lake then ride down to go along its fiords until the village of Vu Linh. We are welcome in a superb stilt house by our Dao Quan Trang friends right on the bank of the lake.
  
  Depending on time and schedule, we can rent a boat to go for a cruise on the peaceful lake and hopefully enjoy one of the nicest sunset of the trip on the three thousands islets of this huge lake. Arrival around 6 pm.
Day 10: Vu Linh – Green Vietnam (~80km, ~3h Road) (B/L/D)
- We go west to Tuyen Quang ; then north to Green Vietnam ; ecological project managed by a dynamic Vietnamese agricultural family. We sleep in the stilt-house in the heart of an extraordinary garden of fruit trees. It’s opportunity to discover and participate in the development of a unique project in Vietnam. Arrival around 6 pm.
Day 11: GreenVietnam – Hanoi (173Km – 5h Road) (B/L)
- Quiet morning with our friends from Green Vietnam, we have time to enjoy the site visit the neighbourhood before hiting the road again, to get back to Hanoi.

10 day trek in Ha Giang, Dong Van, Ba Be, Bac Ha

My wife and I just completed a 10-day trek with Mr Linh's Adventures, traveling in the Ha Giang region of North Vietnam, staying in a combination of homestays and hotels, trekking through minority villages, rice paddies, markets, etc. The trip was excellently organized, our guide was knowledgeable, our driver (when needed) was safe, the views were stunning, the food very tasty and the accommodations distinctly memorable, friendly and comfortable. Along the way we saw Dao, Tay, Hmong and Lo Lo ethnic minorities. Highly recommend Mr. Linh for a unique experience and you will also be off the main tourist drag.

Amazing tour

Review of: Northern Loop Adventure 11 days 10 nights

We recently booked a 10 day tour of the north of Vietnam (Sapa & further north) with Mr Linh Adventures. We wanted something “off the beaten track”, private tour and we wanted to leave the next day - a tall request. We found Mr Linh Adventures office on Ma May street. We explained our requirements to Mr Linh, the owner of the company who quickly put together an excellent itinerary for the 10 ten days. We had a dedicated tour guide and driver who Mr Linh assured us were excellent at their jobs.
The next morning we were collected by Linh our tour guide (not to be mistaken for Mr Linh the owner) and Bao our driver - the car was of excellent condition. We started at Hanoi and headed for Sapa, our first stop and then headed onwards for the next 10 days following the intinerary set out. We stayed in various homestays and hotels that were prefixed by the company. Some were more authientic than others but all provided a wonderful host service and the food was excellent at each place.
Our Tour guide Linh spoke excellent english and is highly informative in all areas. Linh knowledge of his country was second to none (this may have something to do with him also being a history teacher) and he was always happy to take the time to share all the information with us, from the local food that he would source out for us (we ate delicious food for the 10 days due to Linh and Bao knowing the best places to eat) to history of the caves, lakes, rice fields, minority people and their traditions and so on. An excellent tour guide that exceeded all our expectations. Linh takes exceptional care of his clients and provides you with a great sense of care while never over stepping his professional role – a fine balance indeed for a tour guide and someone you are sharing 10 days with that you had never met before.
While we met other travelers along the way with other tour guides, each had complained about their tour guide for one reason of another, so we understood how lucky we were to have Linh, who clearly outshone the other guides. Ling knows his job extremely well and we were very thankful for this.
Our driver Bao, is an exceptional driver who knows his job very well. Bao knows how to drive to ensure his clients felt safe (which we did) at all times even when the roads and routes were very tricky.
Throughtout the trip, we can sincereyly say that Ling and Bao made our time so much more special!
If you ever find yourself in Hanoi I would highly recommend anyone to book Linh and Bao for a trip up north.

Incredible trip through north Vietnam!

My parter and I went on a 10 day trekking tour through the Ha Giang provence and Ba Be National Park with guide Mr Long and driver Mr Nam and had a fantastic time!! Firstly the scenery and views were spectacular whether we were on foot or driving in the car. Our guide Mr Long was excellent; he spoke good english, knew the area very well and took us to some excellent spots that not many others know about. Mr Long made sure the trip was personalised for us, from food and drinks we liked to the type of trails we liked. Our driver was also very good and we enjoyed our time with them both. The food was great - we ate heaps and a huge range of things. There was a great range of accommodation from home stays to hotels, always clean and welcoming. If you can afford to spend more for a personalised trip, we would highly recommend Mr Linh's adventures.
