Route:
Hanoi - Lao Cai - Sapa - Fansipan
How to get to Sapa
Your trip starts with a journey from Hanoi to Sapa town, we recommend taking an overnight bus or by train.
If traveling by bus, you can get to Sapa easier by dropping off directly at the main town, otherwise taking the night train is an experience and you have to catch another bus to transfer to Sapa from Lao Cai station.
Day 1: Fansipan Mountain Trek with Camping (L/D)
You will start the trip to conquer the roof of Vietnam and Indochina:
Medium trekking route:
At about 08.30, you will take a bus (17km) to
Tram Ton Pass
, the highest pass in Vietnam located at 2,100m above sea level. You can
visit the Silver Waterfall en route
. Enjoy the wonderful scenery and then begin the strenuous trek to the peak. After roughly 6 hours of
trekking off the beaten track
through the primitive jungles, across the numerous small streams and bamboo forests, you will have
climbed to about 2,200m, the point at which you pitch your tent
, have dinner and spend your first night on the mountain
Hard trekking route:
Around 08:30, you will walk from Sapa town through villages and terraced fields and through valleys to start infiltrating the
Black Hmong Sin Chai
village. After about 6 hours of walking through the primeval jungle (this part of the forest is quite dense and slippery, some parts are steep mountains), passing through countless small streams and bamboo forests, you will
climb to a height of about approx. 2,200m
, here you can pitch a tent, have dinner and spend the first night on the mountain.
The temperature at night here is very cold, the conditions for hygiene and bathing are limited. You will be provided with a sleeping bag to spend the night in the tent.
Day 2: Fansipan Summit (B/L)
You will have very early breakfast at the camp and then head for the summit by way of pine and yellow bamboo forests.
After an arduous 4-hour climb
, you will finally conquer the roof of Vietnam and Indochina. Spend up to one hour enjoying breathtaking views of the splendid rolling mountains, the small villages of Lai Chau Province and the picturesque town of Sapa. After you have lunch, you will descend
the mountain to Sin Chai Village
of the Black H'mong. You will then
travel to Sapa.
An option to return to Sapa by cable car, this is a great way to see the Fansipan mountain range from above, it allows you to capture the best views over the terraced rice fields of Hmong village.
Return to Hanoi the same way or stay in Sapa longer.

Exhilarating Summit of Mt Fansipan!
Review of:
Fansipan Mountain Trekking 2 days 1 night
WOW. Summiting Mt. Fansipan was an exhilarating, exhausting and extraordinary experience with the young Hmong guide, Thong, that this company provided. The trail has everything that hikers and climbers could want — a bit of bouldering, steep, challenging ascents and descents, and even iron pipes fashioned into ladders placed on slabs so that you don’t need any equipment. It was the most challenging course I’ve ever done, and Thong, who did the entire trail in either pla

stic slippers or bare feet, was very encouraging and even stayed with me when I fell behind the other hikers. I did this trek in two days and one night, starting from the ranger station at 10 am, not sure what the elevation was. We stopped for lunch at 2100M, and made base camp at 2800M by 4pm. Bring only what you can carry. The guide and the porter are already carrying all the food and water for your excursion so you don’t want to burden them unnecessarily like I did. I would recommend this trip for anyone in strong physical condition. Helen at Mr Linh’s Adventures took care of every little detail and everything went as smoothly as promised. I would definitely use this company again. Thank you SO much, Helen!
