Amazing! An absolute must!
Review of: Explore Ba Be Lake 2 days 1 night
I can not say enough good things about how amazing this experience was. Even down to the initial inquiry to the off at the hotel at the end every second of this trip was perfect!
We emailed the company and enquired about a two day trip to Ba Be National Park. Less than 12 hours later Quang from the Hanoi offie came back to us with a well written (In English) email that detailed a wonderful itinerary! Every detail was explained clearly including a breakdown of costs and timeframes

Thrilled we instantly booked and completed a secure online process to send a 30% deposit.
Our guide Anh arrived promptly at 7:30am to collect us and guided us to our air conditioned van! As we had arranged a customised trip we had a private car and private guide! Along the journey Anh explained some of the local history of the areas we were driving through! He told us our schedule for the day and was very polite and well versed in English! He provided us with free bottles of water every time we got back in the van!
We then headed for what I can only describe as the most beautiful mountain scenery I have ever come across! It was beyond stunning! We climbed a board a Vietnamese long boat and sailed down the 3 connecting rivers that adjoin to Ba Be Lake!
We then trekked into a cave of a thousand bats and explored the stunning site!
After this we trekked to a local waterfall through a traditional Vietnamese Village!
We then proceeded to go swimming in the freshwater lake and throughly enjoyed the experience!
We then headed for Mr Linhs homestay! It was picturesque! The room was clean, traditional but simple! The staff couldn't have been more attentive and really made our stay delightful. The food was fresh, traditional and delicious!
After a great first day and night we woke the next morning raring to go!
We started by riding into the heart of the mountains to explore a traditional cave again with Anh providing a detailed commentary of its history!
After this we trekked to a second waterfall which was even better than the first!!
We then headed back to the main office and headed home for Hanoi!
Our driver Tuang could not have been more careful or conscientious when driving he was wonderful!

I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!!

Thank you so much Jacqui! What a success! This tour and the destination are very close to our hearts, we are so glad you enjoyed your time there, especially the homestay. Northern Vietnam is such a special area thanks to its diversity of ethnic groups, staying in a homestay is the best way to learn about their culture. Our team, Phung - your tour guide and Tuan - your driver will surely enjoy reading your review. Thanks again and we are looking forward to welcoming you again! Hidden Trails of Ba Be 2D1N
Review of: Explore Ba Be Lake 2 days 1 night
Enjoyable trip, we really liked hiking in the jungle, the boat trip, kayaking, swimming and jumping off of rocks in Ba Be Lake (either side of the hike). We found learning about the ethnic minorities very interesting, and enjoyed staying in Mr Hung's comfortable homestay in the Dao Village, which has good beds, mosquito nets, showers and western toilets. Electricity is available here although infrequently, so do bring a torch for the evening. We only gave 4 stars as the itinerary see...Read Moremed to be changed without discussion, and we definitely didn't do the length of trek that was advertised. This may have been due to the heat and thus a sensible decision, however it would have been good to have been consulted by our guide before altering the trip. We skipped the cave on Ba Be Lake (1 hour detour) as our guide was concerned about timing, but then arrived 1 hour early at the homestay. Lunch on the second day lasted 1.5 hours, after about an hour we were very much ready to carry on. There was also limited trekking in the jungle, as most was on village paths and roads. The food for the picnic on the second day was excellent, and Mr Linh's homestay (hostel) was really nice. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and would recommend it. Thank you! Read Less
