North Vietnam 9 days 8 nights in late July with double Long
Review of: Off the beaten track in North Vietnam 9 days 8 nights
Doing solo private tour to wonder of northern Vietnam with the double long (both guide and driver named long). The trip was a long drive each day but the scenery was spectacular. The drive was fast yet safe. All accommodation; the homestay and 3 star hotel was a pleasant stay with private well equipped room at the Mr Linh's Homestay @ Ba be Lake plus i had a good experience with the owner of homestay @ Nghia Lo, Ha giang and Coa Bang, their hospitality was very warm.

B
...Read Moreoth Long tries their best to make me comfortable as possible, food are catered to my favor as i opt only for vegetarian food and i so in love with their deep fried spring roll. The food spread was a lot for one person and i feel bad when i cant finish the food but driver long was there to help me clear the food :)..The guide was knowledgeable with decent English, some of his pronunciation was not clear so i will have him spell out for me and he also act as my photographer throughout the whole trip.

The hiking & trekking was easy but muddy.. Daily weather was not favorable, sometimes was heavy rain, drizzle and stormy..

Meeting the local villager was nice especially the hike to one of remote village in Dong van where we did photography with the local villagers..

For day 8 and final day, i didn't really enjoy as i was sick, down with fever after the "force hike at KEO SLIU-AN MA ISLAND" by guide as i get rain during the hike with no great view in the forest, I did ask him do i need to bring the raincoat but he said no need just bring WALLET and it was SHORT HIKE (according to him under 1hr hike) then suddenly a huge pour of rain plus thunderstorm occurred and we got stranded..

But overall it was a great experience for my very first time in Vietnam, thanks to both Long and the tour operator for this awesome adventure where they take your to places that others don't.. Read Less
