Tips
Since the Finnish are the world’s greatest coffee drinkers, a first priority for many travellers from Finland is to get a caffeine fix. They couldn’t be in a better place than Vietnam, which just so happens to be one of the globe’s largest coffee exporters. Coffee culture has thus emerged in Vietnamese society, especially in Hanoi. That said, it’s possible to try some of the local brews just about anywhere in Vietnam, from street vendors to French-style pavement cafés. Be sure to try the Vietnamese iced coffee speciality called ca phe – which is prepared in a single cup filter and has condensed milk added.
