Route: My Son - Hoi An

  • Day 1: My Son - Hoi An (L/D)
    • After your breakfast at the hotel, the driver will come pick you up at 8am to visit the historical port of My Son, heritage of the Cham people. The Champa civilization established their kingdom in Vietnam around the 2nd century, and even though they settled in Hoi An, My Son was the spiritual and religious capital.
Visitors will be able to view the ruins of a large complex of religious relics, built according to the Hindu religion. Unfortunately, the complex suffered from the Vietnam War and now, although the remains are immensely impressive, they have given into the forces of nature with vegetation creeping up the sides of the temples.

You next stop is Kim Bong, a wood carving village where you can see the skill that goes into each handcrafted piece. The village has been making prominent buildings and designs all over Vietnam.

Lunch will be served on your arrival in Hoi An, centre for trade and commerce under the Cham kingdom. Hoi An has a rich history, beaches, adventure, arts and shopping, a full package to captivate the heart of those who travel there.
You have the whole afternoon to discover the city and be mesmerized by the warm yellow buildings and colourful lanterns, creating an enchanted atmosphere, ending with a dinner in a restaurant to enjoy traditional local food, before heading back to your hotel..

    • Your visit of Hoi An continues with some major historical sites of the town. The guide will walk you around the old quarter where many buildings have been preserved in near pristine condition, up to an old house which was once used by merchants who visited the port.
The Chinese Assembly Hall is one of the highlights of the city, you will be able to see the incredible ornament and architecture before crossing the Japanese Covered Bridge, dated from the 18th century. It is said that the Japanese, then living in Hoi An, built the bridge as a way to reach the Chinese quarter across the water.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will attend a Cham music show at the Hoi An Traditional Art Performance Theatre, a unique place to experience the local music and folk dancing presented by Champa women, before heading back to the hotel.
