  • Day 1: Hanoi - Cat Ba National Park trekking (L/D)
    • You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter at 08:00 to start driving to Dinh Vu Port. Then you will take a 10-minute speedboat ride to Cat Ba Island. Lunch in Cat Ba town.

      In the afternoon, you will trek to Viet Hai village through Cat Ba National Park, a paradise for both birdwatching and sightseeing amidst the primeval forest and at Frog Lake. Along the way, you'll have a chance to see wild animals and thousands of butterflies, if you're lucky, you might come across one of the rare Cat Ba langurs.

      Upon arrival, check in at a homestay or eco-lodge, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night amidst the peaceful surroundings of Viet Hai.

      - A 8-10 km trek off the beaten path.
  • Day 2: Cruises & Kayaking on Lan Ha bay (B/L/D)
    • Breakfast will be served at 07:30, then hike to the top of Marine Hill, which offers panoramic views of both Halong bay and Lan Ha bay. Then a cycling trip from Viet Hai Village to the dock, where you’ll board a boat for a full-day exploration of Lan Ha Bay. This adventure includes scenic cruising, kayaking through lagoons and caves, swimming in hidden spots, and savoring a freshly prepared lunch on board. After a day of adventure, followed by a boat ride to the area. Ben Beo floating fishing village where hundreds of households live floating on the sea. Dinner and overnight on the seashore hotel.

      - OPTIONAL OVERNIGHT CRUISES: For a more relaxing experience, consider an optional overnight cruise on Lan Ha Bay for Day 2 and Day 3, featuring activities like kayaking. Contact our specialist to arrange this for you.

  • Day 3: Cat Ba National Park - Hanoi (B/L)
    • After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will pick up to explore Cat Ba island and this is really a favorite sport of most adventurous tourists. We visit the military hospital cave and and trek to Ngu Lam Peak for a glimpse into the island’s history or driving around the scenic roads of Cat Ba. Midday, enjoy lunch at local restaurant before heading back to Hanoi by bus in the afternoon, arriving in the evening.

Cat Ba and Ba Be trek five day tour

The tour was very spectacular and felt very raw and authentic. More importantly this trip would not have been the same without our incredible guide Lam. He is very knowledgable about plants which made the walks that more interesting and is always very happy and positive. The tour is well organised and everywhere we stayed was very nice.

Leaving Hanoi we were collected at the hotel by shuttle bus & went to Cat ba national park hiked for approximately 3-4hours to a homestay where we spent our first night, the second day we travelled to Halong bay stayed overnight on a “cruisie” which my daughter and I had to ourselves. The captain preparing the freshest taste bud tingling food for us, you would struggle to get that kind of quality in many restaurants.Views from the boat amazing.

Incredible 3 day tour of Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba island

I would say this is a must do if you are traveling in the north of Vietnam. Our tour took us to the lest touristic but most beautiful parts of the area. We stayed at an amazing fishing village. We had a private bout take us through la han bay, which is way less crowded and every bit as beautiful as Ha Long bay. Cat Ba island and Monkey island were among the most picturesque and charming places I have ever been. Our guide, Tu, was very sweet, informative, and accommodating.

...Read More One small note: please be advised, if you do the tour we did, you will need to back a small bag for 3 days, that you can carry on a hilly 4 hour hike. We were not aware of this and had to lock up our larger luggage at our guide's house. It was a minor inconvenience but it worked out fine. Read Less

I took the 3D-2N Cat Ba National Park trip and would recommend this company. The trip was great value for money and I was able to customise it completely.

Helen assisted me and was absolutely amazing - she was so helpful and responsive both before and during my trip even with lots of requests. I stayed in Viet Hai village at a bungalow which I would also really recommend - the staff there were so nice and friendly and the setting is beautiful.
