Our day begins with a drive from Luang Prabang to the valley near Long Lao Village, our starting point. Here, we'll briefly explore the culture and traditions of the Khamu and Hmong people and see the Fair Trek project's village bungalow.
We then trek through the picturesque Lao countryside, passing orchards, rice fields, and gardens before entering the forested hills. The trail leads us to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall, where a refreshing swim in its clear pools awaits.
Within the Kuang Si Waterfall park, a visit to the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary is highly recommended. Discover the important conservation work of the Free the Bears program and learn about Asian sun and moon bears.We will return to Luang Prabang by vehicle in the late afternoon.
Trek Information:The 9 km (5.5-mile) trek is approximately 3.5 hours long with medium difficulty. Expect mostly flat terrain with a short, potentially slippery, rocky incline and decline (around 20minutes).
