Routing: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong – Ninh Binh - Hanoi
Tour Style: Nature, Culture & History Tour
Tour Start: in Hanoi / Tour End: in Hanoi
Trip duration: 4 Days 3 Nights
No. of guests: Variable of pax

  • Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau (L/D) | Distance: 35–50 km. Elevation: +800m / -1,100 m

    • We kick things off by leaving the Hanoi noise behind.

The drive to Mai Chau is your warm-up, watching the city fade into emerald valleys framed by massive limestone karsts. Once we arrive, you're not just a guest; you're family. We'll share a home-cooked lunch with a local Thai tribe family (think sticky rice and fresh herbs), before you even touch the pedals.

In the afternoon, you'll get fitted on your bike and shake out the legs. The tarmac here is smooth and quiet. It's less about speed and more about finding your cadence as you glide through rice paddies that stretch to the horizon. The air smells like earth and growing things. We'll roll back to the village as the light softens, freshen up, and end the day gathered in a traditional long house.

No formal dining halls, just good food, cold drinks, and stories under the stars.

  • Day 2: Mai Chau – Pu Luong (B/L/D) | Distance: 50–70 km. Elevation: +1,139 m / -914 m

    • Today is where the ride gets interesting. We head deeper into the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, away from the main roads. You'll feel the gradient change beneath you as we start climbing toward the reserve. It's not a punishing ascent, but enough to get your heart rate up and reward you with those "pinch me" views when you crest the top.
The technical bit? You'll be shifting through gears on quiet backroads, testing your control on the descents while surrounded by forested hills and terraced fields. There's no traffic noise here, just the hum of your tires and your own breathing.

We'll arrive at your lodge in the afternoon with time to let your muscles recover. Whether you take a short walk to a nearby village or just sit on the balcony listening to the jungle, the silence of Pu Luong is something you'll feel in your bones.

  • Day 3: Pu Luong – Ninh Binh (B/L/D) | Distance: 60–80 km. Elevation: +720 m / -1136 m

    • This is the big mileage day, but the road is on your side. We're transitioning from the mountains down to the Red River Delta, which means gravity helps you out. Expect long stretches of downhill or flat terrain where you can settle into a steady rhythm and build some serious momentum.

You'll cruise past sugarcane fields and riverside villages, with our support van nearby just in case you need a water top-up or a quick stretch. As you approach Ninh Binh, the landscape shifts dramatically again. They call it "Halong Bay on land" for a reason: suddenly, massive karsts are rising straight out of the waterways around you. It's a visual reward for the kilometers in your legs.

You'll arrive tired but satisfied, ready for a well-earned dinner.

  • Day 4: Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B/L) | Distance: 25–40 km. Elevation: +177 m / -177 m

    • No alarm clocks today. We've kept the ride short and sweet so you can soak it all in. This morning spin is purely for the joy of it; easy gears, relaxed pace, weaving through limestone peaks that reflect in the still water. It's the perfect chance to snap those final photos or just ride in silence for a few kilometers.

Once we've logged the last few kilometers, you'll hop in the vehicle for the comfortable transfer back to Hanoi. You'll arrive in the capital by afternoon, maybe a bit sore, but carrying the kind of memories that only come from seeing a country from the saddle.

Welcome back to the city! But you'll still feel the mountains in your head.
